School project in Southern India

This passion project provides education, school supplies, hygiene facilities, fresh water, meals, and new perspectives for children at a village school – sustained by direct aid and donations.

How it all began – Om Sai Ram

To the development path

In 2008, I (Siegmund) was approached by Ramesh Reddy in Puttaparthi, following a conversation with friends in the „German Bakery“. Ramesh had been listening attentively to our discussion at the neighbouring table, as we were intensely discussing the many begging children, their lack of opportunities and prospects, and the question of local support.

Ramesh spoke to me kindly, his eyes shining, and explained that he himself had been a pupil at a small, neglected village school (about 35 km from Puttaparthi) and had only been given a chance to attend a subsidised college in Whitefield near Bangalore through a scholarship from the Sathya Sai Baba Trust.

The next day, Ramesh and I took a tuk-tuk to his former village school. Once there, Ramesh showed me around to the teachers, and my worst expectations were exceeded.

I expected a run-down school, but not for approximately 120 pupils (from years 1-5) and 6 teachers None Toilets and None He provided a water pipe (or other usual water tanks). In the classroom, there were no chairs, benches, or tables, only an old blackboard, but no chalk; the children wore old, tattered clothes and sat on the floor…

I couldn't hold back my emotions when I saw the extent of the sadness and poverty. With tears in my eyes, I made a decision: „Here, now helped!“

What arose from compassion

A vibrant school project with room for healthy development

In a small village near Puttaparthi, about 120 km north of Bangalore, beats the heart of our passion project. What began as a vision in 2008 is now a vibrant place of hope: for over 15 years, we have been supporting a local village school there and guiding children on their path to a self-determined future.

This miracle was made possible by a community of love: private funds, income from our enlightened services, and generous donations from our families, friends, and clients all directly support our work on the ground. Thanks to the valuable support of local helpers, we were able to bring this children's aid project to life and shape it sustainably.

Today, we look back with humility at what has been achieved so far. The children, the teaching staff, the parents, Ramesh Reddy, and all the Lotus Love Lightbearers are deeply grateful and proud. Together, we have successfully implemented the following milestones:

Space to learn and grow

Renovation and extension of the school building, as well as the refurbishment of the playground on the school grounds.

Sanitary facilities & drinking water

Construction of toilets, installation of water pumps and a fresh drinking water tank.

Interior Design & Furnishings

Construction of school benches and blackboards – made by local craftsmen on-site as „help for self-help“.

Prevention & Teaching Materials

Investment in hygiene products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc.), school bags, books, notebooks, pens, school uniforms.
